I built the room I needed
Blue Moon Wellness Spa is a one-woman studio in Cobbitty, near Camden. This is the story of why it exists.
I have always been the one people talk to
Long before I had a treatment room, people told me their lives. In kitchens, in cars, at parties I didn't want to be at. Their whole story, unprompted. For years I didn't have a name for what I was doing. I just knew how to hold it.
I learned that early. I grew up in a house where safety wasn't guaranteed, so I became the one who created it. Reading the room before I could read. Looking after everyone, because that was how you stayed safe.
If you have ever been the strong one, the organised one, the one everyone leans on, you already know how that story goes. You get very good at giving. And quietly, without anyone noticing, you forget you are allowed to receive.
Then I hit a wall
During COVID, like a lot of women, I stopped being able to outrun it. Years of caring for everyone else with no idea how to let care come back the other way. I did the work. Slowly. Properly. And I came back different.
Not softer, exactly. I was always soft. I came back knowing the difference between holding space and being used. Knowing that rest is not a reward you earn once everyone else is okay. It is a right.
Blue Moon was built from the other side of that wall.
I was never really inside the beauty industry
I stood at the edge of it for years, watching. Sceptical of an industry that greets women by pointing out their flaws and calls it care.
So this salon doesn't do that. There is no mirror talk here. No assessment. No "problem areas". Beauty care at Blue Moon starts from wholeness, not insecurity. The treatment room is a place of rest, not correction.
One room, behind a curtain rather than a door, because for some women being closed in has never meant safe. One client at a time. Sixty minutes of touch, then fifteen to come back to yourself.
What this room believes
You don't need a reason to deserve care. You never did.
Rest is not a reward. It is a right.
The skin calms when the body feels safe. Not the other way around.
Not a correction. A return.
You are not the problem.
If any of this sounds like your own story, you already understand why Blue Moon exists. The kettle is on, the room is quiet, and nothing here needs anything from you.
The room is here. The door is open.
