Frequently Asked Questions

  • Blue Moon Wellness Spa is a private, single-room wellness and facial treatment space in Cobbitty, NSW, in the Macarthur region of south-west Sydney. It is owned and operated by Liz, a beauty therapist who left the conventional beauty industry to build something different. A space where nervous system care, safety, and rest are the foundation of every treatment.

  • Most salons are built around correcting the skin. Blue Moon Wellness Spa is built around the whole person. Treatments here begin with the understanding that you need to feel safe before your body can receive care at any real depth. There is no commentary on what needs to be fixed. There is no rushing. The treatment room belongs entirely to you for the duration of your session.

  • Blue Moon Wellness Spa is located at 300B Cobbitty Road, Cobbitty NSW 2570, in the Macarthur region of south-west Sydney. The space is open Monday to Saturday and serves clients from Cobbitty, Camden, Narellan, Campbelltown, and the broader south-west Sydney area.

  • Blue Moon Wellness Spa is for women who are ready, or almost ready to stop. Women who have been giving to everyone else and have nothing left to give themselves. Women who feel disconnected from their bodies. Women who are exhausted in a way that rest alone doesn't fix. Women who have been putting off booking and sense it might finally be time.

  • Bookings are made online through bluemoonwellnessspa.com.au. If you have questions before booking, you are welcome to reach out via the website or through Instagram at @bluemoonwellnessspa.

  • A day spa is built for variety. Multiple rooms, multiple therapists, a full menu. The experience is generous and often social. Many people love exactly that. A private, single-room studio is built for depth. At Blue Moon Wellness Spa in Cobbitty, there is one room. One practitioner. One treatment at a time. The room is prepared before you arrive. When you walk in, nothing needs to happen except what you came for. There is no waiting area where you feel observed. No front desk that requires you to be composed before you are ready. No sense of the next client arriving, no quiet pressure to keep moving. The fifteen minutes at the end of the Homecoming Ritual exist specifically so you do not have to go straight back out into the world before you are ready. For a woman who finds busy environments hard to relax in, who needs to be the only person in the room, who wants rest that actually lands, the difference is not small. The quiet is not incidental. It is the treatment

  • Some clients come monthly. Some fortnightly. Some whenever they feel themselves starting to brace again — and recognise the feeling. There is no prescribed plan. No pressure to commit to a program.

Just a room that stays consistent, and a practice that builds at your pace. Multi-treatment packages are available for all facials. Ask at your next visit, or get in touch before you book

About Blue Moon Wellness Spa

  • The Homecoming Ritual is Blue Moon Wellness Spa's signature treatment — a 60-minute nervous system facial that combines fascia-focused facial massage, sound healing, and restorative skincare in a private, unhurried setting. It is not a standard facial. It is designed to help your body feel safe enough to release what it has been holding, so that deep, genuine rest becomes possible.

  • The Homecoming Ritual is $220 for 75 minutes. Blue Moon Wellness Spa does not discount treatments. The price reflects the depth, intention, and one-on-one care that goes into every session.

  • The room will be prepared before you arrive temperature, sound, lighting, and scent all set with intention. The session opens with a double cleanse to begin the process of nervous system regulation. Fascia-focused facial massage follows slow, intentional work through the muscles and connective tissue of the face, neck, and scalp. Restorative skincare is applied with care. Sound healing closes the session, returning you to stillness before you re-enter the world. Nothing is required of you except that you arrive.

  • Monthly is ideal for most clients. Regular sessions allow the nervous system to build on each experience rather than starting from scratch each time. However, even a single session can produce a significant shift and you are always welcome to book as often or as infrequently as suits you.

  • Yes. Because the approach prioritises gentleness, safety, and regulation over correction, it is often well-suited to sensitive skin, rosacea, and stress-related skin conditions. If you have a specific concern, reach out before booking so we can discuss whether the Homecoming Ritual is right for you.

THE HOMECOMING RITUAL

  • A nervous system facial is a treatment designed to help your body shift from a state of stress and protection into genuine rest. Unlike a standard facial that works on the surface of the skin, a nervous system facial works with the whole person using slow touch, sound healing, and a carefully held environment to support the nervous system at a deeper level. The skin benefits are real, but they are a by-product of something more important: regulation.

  • When your nervous system is in a state of protection fight-or-flight, your body is not available to fully receive care. Muscles hold tension. The breath stays shallow. Cortisol levels remain elevated. No product can penetrate a body that is still bracing. A nervous system facial creates the conditions of safety that allow your body to shift out of protection and into a state where it can truly rest and restore.

  • Sound healing uses specific frequencies — typically from singing bowls or tuning forks — to support the nervous system's movement into a parasympathetic, or rest-and-restore, state. In simple terms: certain sounds help the body feel safe. They work at a level that bypasses the thinking mind, reaching the parts of the nervous system that conscious relaxation techniques often cannot access. Many clients describe the sound healing portion of the Homecoming Ritual as the moment something finally lets go.

  • Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles throughout the body, including the face. Fascia-focused massage works with this deeper tissue rather than just the surface muscles — releasing patterns of tension that conventional facial massage doesn't reach. It tends to produce a different quality of relaxation, and more lasting results, because it works with the body's structure rather than across the surface of it.

  • Yes. Research consistently shows that chronic stress and the cortisol elevation that comes with it, is one of the most significant contributors to common skin concerns including acne, rosacea, eczema, premature ageing, and dullness. When the nervous system shifts from sympathetic to parasympathetic activation, cortisol drops, circulation improves, inflammation reduces, and skin cell turnover normalises. Addressing nervous system state is therefore not a soft alternative to skincare — it is, in many cases, the most direct route to skin health available.

  • Because your body has finally found somewhere safe enough to let go. The body stores tension, stress, and unprocessed emotion in the muscles and connective tissue. When slow, safe touch begins to release that physical holding, the emotional content held alongside it can surface. This is a healthy, normal response — and in the treatment room at Blue Moon Wellness Spa, it is welcomed rather than bypassed.

  • A regular facial works on the surface of the skin. Cleanse, exfoliate, treat, moisturise. The goal is visible skin improvement within the hour. A nervous system facial works from the inside out. The premise is different. When the body is in a stress response, the skin reflects that. Tight muscles, restricted blood flow, elevated cortisol. The skin cannot fully receive treatment when the body is bracing against something. A nervous system facial addresses that first. At Blue Moon Wellness Spa in Cobbitty, the Homecoming Ritual begins with sound healing, using frequency to bring the nervous system out of fight-or-flight before any touch begins. The fascia, the connective tissue woven through the face, jaw, neck, and scalp, starts to soften. Blood flow improves. The skin opens on its own terms. The skincare follows. Because the body is genuinely at rest, it receives the treatment differently. The results last longer. Not because the products are stronger, but because the conditions were right. A regular facial can absolutely improve your skin. A nervous system facial changes the conditions your skin lives in.

  • A clinical treatment is designed to target a specific concern. A breakout. Pigmentation. Signs of ageing. The logic is intervention: identify the problem, apply the solution. A holistic facial starts from a different question entirely. What is the whole body carrying, and how is that showing up in the skin? Skin concerns rarely exist in isolation. Jaw tension shows up as puffiness. Chronic stress disrupts the skin barrier. Shallow breathing affects oxygenation and tone. Treating the surface without addressing what is underneath can produce results that do not hold. At Blue Moon Wellness Spa, the Homecoming Ritual nervous system facial uses fascia-focused massage, sound healing, and intentional touch to address what conventional treatments cannot reach. Not a correction. A return to what the skin is capable of when the body feels safe. Clinical treatments have their place. They are precise and effective for specific skin conditions. A holistic facial is for when what the skin is doing is connected to what the

THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY & OUR APPROACH

  • Because the conventional beauty industry is built on a model that profits from insecurity. It identifies things women might feel uncertain about — a breakout, a line, uneven skin tone — and frames them as problems that require a purchase to solve. Blue Moon Wellness Spa was built from a different belief: that you are already whole, and that care, rest, and feeling safe in your body are things you deserve simply because you exist.

  • Slow beauty is an approach to skin care that prioritises presence, intention, and the whole person over speed and correction. It means treatments are not rushed through steps to maximise efficiency. It means the pace of each session is determined by the client's body, not a clock. It means the goal is not transformation but restoration — returning a person to themselves, rather than changing them into someone else.

  • Not against beauty care itself but deeply committed to questioning the model underneath it. There is a version of beauty care that starts from the belief that something needs to be fixed. And there is a version that starts from the belief that you are already whole. Blue Moon Wellness Spa is built around the second. That doesn't make the first wrong, it just means there is a different option available

  • Because discounting sends a message that the treatment is worth less than the original price and that is not true. The Homecoming Ritual is priced to reflect the depth of care, the one-on-one attention, and the genuine nervous system support it provides. The Open Door offering exists for women who are navigating financial hardship, and is available on a pay-what-you-can basis. That is the appropriate response to financial barriers not across-the-board discounting.

  • The Open Door is a pay-what-you-can 30-minute nervous system facial, offered once each day of the week at Blue Moon Wellness Spa. It exists because Liz believes that rest and nervous system support should not be accessible only to those who can afford full price. Suggested price anchors are $40, $75, or $110 but the session is offered without judgment regardless of what a client is able to give.

BOOKING & PRACTICAL INFORMATION

  • Blue Moon Wellness Spa is located at 300B Cobbitty Road, Cobbitty NSW 2570 — a short drive from Camden, Narellan, Campbelltown, and the surrounding Macarthur region. Bookings are made online through bluemoonwellnessspa.com.au and are available Monday to Saturday.

  • Nothing elaborate. Come as you are. If you can, avoid caffeine beforehand, it can make it harder for the nervous system to settle. Wear comfortable clothing. Arrive a few minutes early if possible, so you have time to transition before the session begins. The room will be ready for you. Everything else will be taken care of.

  • Absolutely. Many clients who come to the Homecoming Ritual have never had a professional facial, or have had experiences in conventional salons that left them feeling assessed rather than held. The session is designed to be accessible, gentle, and free of any expectation. You do not need to know anything about skincare to receive genuine care.

  • Yes. Gift vouchers for the Homecoming Ritual and other treatments are available through the website.

  • Bookings can be cancelled or changed online up to 24 hours in advance of your visit with no extra charge. If you fail to adhere to the cancellation policy as stated under the terms and conditions your payment method may be charged the remaining balance of your booking amount.

  • Yes — as long as everyone is happy to go one at a time. We can have nibbles ready so the wait feels like part of the experience rather than just waiting. Blue Moon is a solo practice. One treatment room, one therapist. That is where the quality comes from.

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, Afterpay, and Zip Pay.

  • Most clients return monthly. Some come fortnightly, especially during higher-stress periods. There is no rule. What most people notice is that the effects last longer as the practice continues.

The first session opens something. The sessions after that build on it. The nervous system starts to learn where safe is — and the skin reflects that over time.

If you are unsure, book one session and see how you feel a week later. Your body will usually tell you when it wants to come back.

  • Yes. Skin changes are real here — they just do not start from the premise that something is wrong with you. When the nervous system settles, the body shifts out of stress response. Circulation improves. Inflammation softens. The face that has been holding tension starts to let it go.

Clients regularly notice changes in skin tone, texture, and sensitivity over a course of treatments. The difference is that the change comes from the body regulating itself — not from aggressive intervention. It tends to be quieter, and it tends to last.
